Acupuncture
Marguerite Darlington, L.Ac., Dipl. OM, is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist practicing at Healing Hands Wellness Center at 3rd and Crescent Heights. She earned her Masters in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Emperor's College in Santa Monica, California, in 2005. Her studies encompassed Chinese Medicine, acupuncture, massage, nutrition, and herbal medicine. In addition to her practice at Healing Hands Wellness Center, she is a technical supervisor at Yosan University, teaching student interns proper needling techniques and clinical protocols.
Education and Experience
Before joining the staff at Healing Hands, Marguerite maintained a private practice in Chicago, Illinois, that focused on women's health and pain management. In addition to her private practice, she became the first alternative health care provider to volunteer services at Chicago Women's Health Center. She also taught herbal medicine at Hired Hands University, a massage school in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood.
Marguerite holds a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine from the NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine). In addition, she studied herb-drug interaction with both Dr. John Chen and Bob Flaws, and is well-versed in the risks of prescribing herbal remedies to patients taking prescriptions.
